Donna Marie Montoya

Donna Marie Montoya, 92, of Santa Fe, NM, went peacefully to be with our Lord on Friday, February 28,2020. She was born on September 22, 1927, in La Joya, NM. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years Jose (Pat) Montoya Jr. Her parents David and Bernadita Lucero, In-Laws Patricio and Ernestina Montoya. Sister's Gloria Baca and Angie Lynch, brother Tony Lucero. She is survived by her daughter Yvonne Montoya, Son Richard Montoya (Sabina). Grandchildren Dominic Montoya (Christina), Krystal Hendricks (Ken), Sirie Montoya (James), and DonnaMarie Montoya. Great-grandchildren Kaylee and Ryan Montoya, Maylene and Lacie Hendricks, and Aalieya Garcia Montoya. Siblings Corrine Garcia, Ray Lucero, Vincent Lucero, MaryLou Martinez, David Lucero (Patsy), Fred Lucero (Josie), Lupe Lujan (Alfred), Helen Valdez (Eloy). Sister in Law Vicky Lucero and Brother in law Willy Lynch. She also has many beloved nieces, nephews and other relatives. She graduated Santa Fe High School in 1945. She then went to work in the kitchen at La Fonda where she met her lifelong husband and then worked as the office personnel at JCPenney for 37 years. After she retired, she kept herself busy as Head Receptionist at her daughter's hair salon and spent the rest of her time devoted to raising and caring for her family. Her sweet, loving personality made an impression on everyone she came across. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Our deepest gratitude to Ambercare hospice and Riverside Funeral Home of Santa Fe for the compassionate care of our mother. Pallbears will be James Garcia, Ray Valencia, Bobby Lucero, Chris Lucero, Dominic Montoya and Juan Rosales. Rosery will be recited on Thursday, March 5th at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christan burial will be Friday, March 6th at 11:00 am. At St.Anne's Parish with reception to follow at the VFW. Burial will take place Tuesday, March 10th at 10:30 am at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
