Donna J. Pharris

March 27th, 1947 - July 25th, 2024

Donna J. Pharris passed away July 25,2024 at a Care facility in Meridian with her daughter by her side.

Donna was born March 27, 1947, in Wendell, Idaho to Gordon and Phyllis Lenninger. She graduated from Glenns Ferry High School in 1965.

On October 16, 1965, Donna married her high school sweetheart William "Bill" Pharris.  Together they raised two children, Julie and Michael.

Mom worked various jobs until 1977 when she went to work at the DMV. She met a lot of new people and enjoyed the 10 years she spent working there. In 1987, she began work for the Small Business Administration in Boise. She spent several years driving one of the ACHD commuter vans between Mountain Home and Boise. It was both enjoyable and challenging for her. Mom's adventures with SBA took her to Virginia and then to California where she worked until her retirement in 2010.

Mom enjoyed reading, shopping, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events.

After 56 years of marriage, Bill passed away in December 2021. After losing Dad, Mom's health continued to decline. She spent the last two years in a memory care facility. She always had a smile on her face and never let the staff be too far from her sight. Our family is eternally grateful to the staff at Edgewood Springcreek in Meridian. Not only for the exceptional care mom received, but also for the love and compassion they all gave her.

Donna is survived by her daughter Julie (John) Cristobal and son W. Michael (Naomi) Pharris. Seven wonderful grandchildren: JT, Jacci, Jett, Kaydence, Brynnlee, and Mason. Sisters: Janice Huebert, Suann McDonald, Patti Allen, and Betty Ward.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, both parents, her stepfather, four brothers, and one sister.

Rost Funeral Home

Rost Funeral Home

As the only funeral home in Elmore County, the staff at Rost Funeral Home work hard to be active members of the Mountain Home community and to be there to take care of families in every way possible when the need arises. Our funeral home opened in 2005 when Jerry and Janette Rost purchased the business. We’ve continued to grow along with Mountain Home. Jerry’s career began more than fifty years ago in Boise, and along the way, he acquired an 1897 horse-drawn funeral carriage, which we proudly display in our facility.
