Donna Slack https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-I5MxOOMgHEb2hyal93ME5GaTA/edit?usp=sharing Donna Jean Slack, 78, of Merritt Island, Florida passed away August 9, 2014 peacefully at her home surrounded by family. Donna was born in Jackson, Ohio on February 16, 1936. Donna was preceded in death by beloved husband James G. Slack; mother Blanche Radcliffe; daughter Catherine A. Slack; brother Paul Radcliffe; brother in law Madison Slack; brother in law James Brewer, daughter in laws Melanie Slack and Deanne Slack. Donna was actively involved in the horse racing industry for 40 years and a licensed thoroughbred horse trainer for 20 years at Thistle Downs in Cleveland, Ohio. She thoroughly enjoyed the company of family and friends, especially her sweet little poodle Hobo. Donna is survived by her son James G. Slack II; daughter Cynthia Slack Gompers; son in law Daniel Gompers; son Joseph P. Slack; sister Betty Brewer; brother in law Dean Slack; sister in law Loretta Slack; Grandchildren John Cooper; Lauren Slack; Kelly Dugan; Blaine Slack; James Dugan, Jocelyn and Gregory Gompers, and 3 great grandchildren. Special friends William Dugan; Linda Simmons; Bill Martin; Betty Shank; and Pat Bonfig. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Coastal Poodle Rescue. Funeral Arrangements will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 10 AM at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Viera, FL
