Donna Ellen Thiele
March 19th, 1950 - November 16th, 2010
Donna Thiele, 60, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her Father, Don Thiele. Donna was born in Oceanside, California but found her true home when she came to Washington. Donna loved the water; she even lived on a boat for ten years. Fishing, crabbing, just being out on the water was what made her happy. Donna could fillet a salmon or clean a crab with the best of them. She also liked to do calligraphy, she enjoyed photography and she loved her cats. She worked at Total Hearing in Edmonds as a hearing aid technician and she loved her job. Her illness prevented her from working this year and she fought hard to get well so she could go back to work. Those who knew her called her “spunky”, “courageous”, “a real fighter”. She was all of that and more. She will be remembered for her patience, her generosity and her love of life. Donna is survived by her son, Arlo Abbott; her Mother, Ruth Thiele of San Diego, California; three sisters, Chris White (Joy Beck), Linda Thiele and Susan Weideman; two brothers, Don (Eiko) Thiele and Steve (Tammy) Thiele. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and her Life Partner Brian King. Brian’s family, Vernon (Kathleen) King, Dennis King, Jackie (Tim) Romo and Beverly (Bert) Pack considered Donna their family, too, and everyone will miss her. At her request, no funeral services will be held. A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at a later date.
