Doreen Dziedzic-Etzkorn

Doreen Dziedzic-Etzkorn, 58, of Broadway Street, Fonda died unexpectedly on April 23, 2014 as a result of an auto accident. She was born, September 13, 1955, in Amsterdam, NY she was the daughter of Ted and Dolores Benjamin Dziedzic. Doreen was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville High School. Later on she graduated from Fulton-Montgomery Community College with an Associate's degree in Applied Science. She continued her education receiving a bachelor's degree and later a Master's degree from the College of St. Rose in Albany. She was a employed as a science teacher at the former Tryon School for Boys also Lexington Center and she was last employed by the Adirondack Academy of Johnstown. Doreen was a member of the Fonda Reformed Church and the Gloversville Free Methodist Church. She was a very devoted teacher who loved spending time with her family and enjoyed the outdoors. Survivors include her parents; Dolores and Ted Dziedzic of Tribes Hill; three sons, Jordan (Anne) May of St. Johnsville, Vincent May (fiancé Melissa) of Amsterdam, and Thomas Etzkorn of Fonda; two daughters, Gabrielle (Dean) Febbie of Tribes Hill and Lauren Etzkorn of Fonda and a sister Barbara Dziedzic of Fonda, 4 grandchildren; Cassandra, Allyson, Jordan and Alexandra; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 29 at 2 pm at the Fonda Reformed Church, 19- 21 Broadway, Fonda, NY with the Rev. Jennifer Yeske and the Rev. Wilton Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Cecilia's Cemetery in Fonda. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 12 noon to 2 pm at the Fonda Reformed Church in Fonda. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Doreen's memory to the Montgomery County SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam, New York 12010.
