Graveside services for former Chico resident, Doris Ella Blue, 80 of Plumas Lake, CA will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Glen Oaks Memorial Park. Doris passed away May 3, 2008 in Marysville, CA. She was born January 2, 1928 in Waco, Texas to Martha Harris. Doris was member of the Second Baptist Church and choir. Doris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She moved to Oakland, CA in the late 1950's. Doris married Louis Blue in the Bay Area, then moved to Chico, CA in 1962. She leaves to mourn three daughters, Karen Blue Smith, Debra Blue Reed and Lori Blue; three step-daughters, Roxie, Rhonda and Gladys; two step-sons, Fredrick and Douglas; grandsons, Charles Smith and Travell Reed; granddaughter, Whitney Reed; cousins, Dorothy Mae Black and Gary Branch; a sister-in-law, Helen Harris; devoted son-in-laws, Tim Reed and Chuck Smith and a large extended family. Doris is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Willie C. Harris and James "Bubba" Harris and husband, Louis and a granddaughter, Tamika Russ, aunts, uncles and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Sutter North Hospice, 826 4th St., Marysville, CA 95901, c/o the funeral home.
