Doris Mary Datz (nee Kennedy), 92 of Mullica Hill, NJ, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 23, 2018. Legacy Doris was born in Medford, Massachusetts on September 9, 1926 and she graduated from Medford High School. Doris moved to Maine and then to Mullica Hill, New Jersey shortly after her marriage in 1947 and resided there for most of her life. She was a member of the Holy Name of Jesus Parish since coming to Mullica Hill and she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society there. Doris worked as a dental receptionist for Dr. Defonce and Dr. Holtzheimer in Mantua and later as office manager at Datz Engineering and Land Surveying. She was a member of the Mullica Hill Woman's Club. Doris loved vacations in North Carolina and spending time with her family. Doris also loved raising her 7 children and remained a strong presence in their adult years. She always took several trips every year to Massachusetts to see her sisters and family. Family Doris was predeceased by her beloved husband, John, to whom she was married for 63 years. She is also predeceased by her daughter, Joan Entwistle, her parents, Michael and Alice Kennedy and her sister, Helen McLaughlin. Doris is survived by her children, Jack (Kathy), Bill (Ann), Eileen Kinahan (Tom), Kathy Mahoney (late David), Ted (Joyce), Steve (Susan) and son-in-law Dean Entwistle. Loving grandmother of Chris, Steve (Brianne), Ryan (Susan), Sean (Tattiana), Molly, Jenna, Justin (Lee Ann), Erin, Kathryn, Joseph, Michael, Trevor and Jared. Devoted great-grandmother of Evan, Andrew, Callie and Zoey. Dear sister of Alice Meagher. Farewell Tribute Friends and family are invited to her viewing on Friday, January 4th from 9:00AM to 11:15AM in the Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit Parish Center, 17 Earlington Avenue, Mullica Hill, NJ. Funeral Mass at 11:30AM. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
