Doris Parham (Lands), 94, passed away at Brookdale Green Mountain Senior Living Center in Lakewood, Colorado, on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. She was a longtime resident of Lakewood, Colorado. She was born on August 9, 1923 in Walcott, Greene County, Arkansas, to Otis Cleveland †œJack†� and Cecil Lands (Smothers). Doris was a graduate of Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, AR, where she earned a B.A. in business in 1946. During World War II, she typed specifications for blueprints for the McDonnell Aircraft Company in St. Louis, MO, the producer of the DC-3 aircraft, and for Boeing Airplane Company, the producer of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber, in Wichita, KS. She moved to Colorado after the war and married James †œJimmy†� Parham, who preceded her in death in 1997. Doris and Jimmy were husband and wife for over 45 years. Doris taught for the Jefferson County School District for over thirty years, at South Lakewood, Glennon Heights, and Patterson Elementary Schools until 1985. Doris was a longtime member of her church community at Green Mountain United Methodist Church, in Lakewood. She is survived by her three sons, Stephen, of Denver; Bruce (Meredith), of Anchorage, AK, and Gary (Tammy), of Lakewood; and a daughter, Christi (Brendan), of College Station, TX; her grandson, Collin, of College Station; and siblings, Sharon Bishop (Jerry) of Naples, FL, and Lawrence E. Lands, of Jonesboro, and numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives. Doris was predeceased in death by her husband, James; her parents, Jack and Cecil Lands; and her brother, Jack †œJunior†� Lands. The family thanks all those who visited Doris as her health declined. It always brightened her spirits. A memorial service will be held at Green Mountain United Methodist Church, 12755 W Cedar Dr, Lakewood, on Thursday, January 25, 12:00 noon. Interment, Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area C, 2:15 p.m. Reception to follow at 3:30 p.m., Chad†™s Grill, 275 Union Blvd, Lakewood.
