Doris R. Ruet, 92, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away January 3, 2014 in Gilbert, Arizona. Doris was born on July 18, 1921 in Chicago to George and Ann Maeder. She graduated from Steinmetz H.S. In Dec. 1940, her only sibling, Judie, was born. Doris was both big sister and mother to Judie. Doris married the love of her life, Lawrence J. Ruet on Feb. 7, 1942 in Tennessee. They endured much separation during their early marriage due to WW II. They lived in many places during their 57 year marriage, but settled happily in Desert Dawn Estates in Mesa AZ in 1988. Doris most recently resided at the Citadel Assisted Living in Mesa. Her biggest joy came from her large and loving family, and many friendships around the world. Doris is survived by her children, Susan Larsen, Mike Ruet, Anne Iocco, Joe Ruet, Gene Ruet, George Ruet, Bob Ruet, Mary Finnila, and their spouses. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence J. Ruet. A visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Monday, January 6, 2014 at Falconer Funeral Home, 251 W. Juniper Ave. Gilbert, AZ. Funeral services will be at 10 AM, Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1244 S. Power Rd. Mesa, Arizona.
