Doris Ann Schmidt, 71, of Lino Lakes, MN passed surrounded by loved ones on September 22, 2023. She was born in St. Paul, MN in 1951 to Richard and Dorothy Aliperto on St. Paul’s East Side where she met her husband, Dan of 52 years. Doris attended Johnson Senior High School and later worked for the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard and mother, Dorothy. She is survived by her loving husband, Dan; children, Renee (Dan) Carlson, Greg Schmidt, Debby (Troy) Neely and Doug (Adrienne) Schmidt; grandchildren, Alyssa, TJ, Jack, Brady, Allison and Anna; siblings, David, Sandy, Drew, Danny, Darlene, Diane, Gary, Lynn and John; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Doris loved traveling and always looked forward to her and Dan’s next trip. She was an avid seamstress, enjoyed cooking, and loved to read books. Her passion was being a wife, mom, grandparent and sister to her large family. Her calm and welcoming presence will be sorely missed. A Celebration of Life will be held 4-8 PM, Friday, October 13 at Indian Hills Golf Course, 6667 Keats Ave N, Stillwater. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Doris’ honor to the American Breast Cancer Foundation or the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
