Doris Lucile Wheatly
February 20th, 1936 - August 27th, 2021
Doris Lucile Wheatley February 20th, 1936- August 27th, 2021 Doris was born in an old farmhouse in Marysville, Washington to Frank and Cecelia Bergevin. Doris had a wonderful sense of humor that she loved to share with others. Her witty one liners always made others smile especially her caregivers in her final stages of life. Doris worked as an in-home caregiver for many years. In 1958, while attending the University of Washington, she met Daniel Wheatley on a blind date. They were married for 13 years and had four children. Doris was an avid gardener who passed on her green thumb to her children and grandchildren. She loved all animals, especially her longtime companions "Rex" and "Annie". Throughout her life, she had a plethora of pets including a talking myna bird. Her happy place was the beach and she loved all types of seafood. Doris's greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and cooking delicious meals for them. Her mac and cheese recipe will be cherished by her family for years to come. Doris is survived by her twin sister, Sy Brashler, five children, Andy Wheatley, Diane Wheatley, Randy Wheatley. Denise Parker (Robert) and Jeremy Anunson (Jacie). She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Cecelia Bergevin, sister, Ellen Dodge and brother, Francis Bergevin. She has 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday September 11th in Oregon City.
