Dorothea Marie Pedersen

Dorthea M. Pedersen, former resident of West Richland , died peacefully at age 93 on January 9, 2009 , in Edmonds , Washington . Born Dorthea M. Gartin on June 17, 1915 in Burke , South Dakota , she married Hans S. Pedersen in 1933 in Mitchell , Nebraska . Her husband Hans, son James, and daughter Patricia Ragan preceded Dorthea in death. Survivors include her sister Margie Lindemann; sons Ken (Joan) and Eric (Diane); daughters Sandra (Lloyd) Keiley, and Beth (Dick) Baker; and many nephews and nieces. Dorthea was a proud grandma to nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Leaving Nebraska , Dorthea and Hans settled in the Tri Cities in the early 1940s. She found her greatest joy in her family, her church, her art and travel, which she pursued after her retirement from Densow Drugs. An early member of Allied Arts and Richland Lutheran Church, all who knew her loved her and found inspiration in her fearless love of life. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Richland Lutheran Church, 901 Van Giesen, Richland, Washington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to Richland Lutheran Church .
