DOROTHEA POWELL May 17, 1944 – August 30, 2014 Rockledge (Viera) Florida Dorothea Powell, 70, passed away peacefully at Viera Hospital August 30, 2014. Dorothea is survived by her loving husband Warren of 50 years, their children Deborah of Rockledge, Susan and her husband Hassan and two grandchildren Adam and Zak who live in Louisville Co., her brother Jim and sister Mary of New Bedford Ma. She was predeceased by her mother and father Maureen and John DeGreve, Brother John DeGreve and Sister Donna Hauk of Melbourne, Fl. Dorothea was a loving, caring and gentle person who traveled and lived with her military husband and children in Berlin Germany, Philippines, Turkey, Greece, Colorado and Texas. In 1979 the family moved to Melbourne, fl where they lived for 8 years. She then accompanied her husband for the next 17 years as NASA Contractor to Hampton, Virginia and then to Huntsville, Alabama until retirement in 2004. Following retirement they returned to Florida and settled in Viera East. Warren and daughter Deborah will travel to Western Massachusetts (Great Barrington) to have a Celebration of Dorothea’s Life with his family and their friends. Local Services and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
