Acres, Dorothy E., 87, 06/19/1923 - 09/16/2010 Dorothy E. Acres died Sept. 16, 2010, due to complications from cancer and dementia. She was 87. Dorothy was originally from Arnprior, Ontario, and was a registered nurse for Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland. All who knew her were blessed by her sense of humor, her compassion, but most of all, her profound love. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Jim and Robert; daughter-in-law, Patti; and her community of friends and neighbors who loved her and will dearly miss her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Acres. Her memory will be held forever in our hearts and her spirit will live forever. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, in the Cathedral Church of St. John the Baptist, 6300 S.W. Nicol Road, just off Scholls Ferry Road. A celebration of Dorothy's life will follow in the large hall next to the church.
