Dorothy L. Bohacek

Dorothy L. Bohacek, 86, formerly of Rt. 5, passed away peacefully Tuesday at the Palatine Nursing Home. Born in the Town of Stark on May 26, 1926, the daughter of the late Levi and Louise Terry Hazzard she resided in this area her entire life. Dorothy worked for a number of years at the former Van Wie's Restaurant in Canajoharie. Dorothy also worked as an aide and housekeeper for the Arkell Hall for 8 years. She retired at the age of seventy six from the McDonald's in Palatine Bridge. In her earlier years she loved to knit and crochet. On Oct. 7, 1960 she was united in marriage to Joseph Bohacek who predeceased her on May 7, 1981. She leaves her children; daughters Joan Willoughby of Fort Plain and Patricia Beyer and her husband Clifford of Canajoharie; sons Gary and wife Rosemary Blowers of Nelliston and Shane and wife Bonnie Bohacek of Fultonville; grandchildren; Jacob and Janel Blowers, Patrick Beyer and Tara Bohacek; great grandchildren Michael, Ray, Todd, Molly, Zach and Nicholas; great great granddaughters Hailey Marie and Madsyn Kendra; and a sister Peg McGregor of Canajoharie. In addition to her husband and parents, she also lost her grandson Kenneth R. Williams. Her family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the entire staff at Palatine Nursing Home for the wonderful daily care, kindness and support given to Dorothy and the family. Dorothy's family will be receiving relatives and friends from 4 to 6 pm on Friday at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street Canajoharie. Interment will take place in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery later this spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ayres Animal Shelter Inc. 133 Hilltop Rd., Sprakers, 12166.
