Dorothy (Grandma B.) was born to Ferdinand and Clara Lowitzer in North Tonawanda, New York on February 15, 1920. She lived in many cities during her lifetime including Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Detroit, Charlotte, San Francisco and her final hometown of Sun City Center, Florida. Grandma B. served her country in World War II in the Women's Marines and was a lifetime member of the Women's Marines Association. She married Dick Ranker, Sr in 1944 and raised her family in Cleveland, Ohio. After Dick's death in 1978 she found her high school sweetheart back in Tonawanda and married Allen Butcheri. Grandma B. was a lifelong Lutheran and a devout and faithful follower of Jesus Christ. She handled all of life's ups and downs with a fervent belief that God is always in control. She is celebrating in heaven with her parents, Dick and Allen and her daughter Dianne, son Doug and granddaughter Tracy.
