Dorothy Oakley Crowder, age 89, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Beacon Place. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Todd Crum officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. Dorothy was born in Guilford County on May 31, 1927 a daughter to David Lee Oakley and Flossie Adaline Phillips Oakley. She was married to Richard Crowder. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Crowder. She was a member of Stevens Memorial Baptist Church, the Believers Sunday School Class and a homemaker. Surviving are her daughters, Becky Bowles, Cathy Strege and Lynn Botts; sons, Mike Crowder and Lee Crowder; sister, Nellie Galloway; brothers, David Lee Oakley and Lewis Oakley; 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. The obituary and online condolences may be viewed at www.lambethtroxlerfuneralhome.com.
