Ft. Valley, GA: Dorothy L. Edwards, 73, passed away on Wednesday January 6, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 12th in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Richard Lanning will officiate. Mrs. Edwards was born in Dodge County, GA. She was the daughter of the late Eddie Calvin and Leila Day. She was a member of the Powersville United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her husband of over 55 years James H. Edwards of Ft. Valley, children James Allen Lisa Edwards of Ft. Valley, Darlene Tony Sheppard of Kathleen, Donna McCollum of Ft. Valley, Vanessa Bill Field of Ft. Valley, Brian Melissa Edwards of Ft. Valley, Kimberly Scott Mazo of Kathleen, David Jamie Edwards of Nashville, GA, brothers Elmer Day of McDonough, Eddie Day and Calvin Day both of Ft. Myers, FL, 22 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the OVARIAN CANCER INSTIUTE @ 980 Johnson Ferry Rd., Suite 900, Atlanta, GA, 30342, in memory of Mrs. Edwards. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
