Dorothy Louise Mathiot

Dorothy passed peacefully in her sleep on March 1st, 2012. Born in Portland in 1920, she was raised by loving parents along with her seven siblings. The family lived in the Lake Grove area, and Dorothy attended Lake Grove Grade School, West Linn High School, and the University of Portland. She also received nurses training through St. Vincent’s Hospital. Dorothy married Richard (Dick) Mathiot, the boy next door, in 1942 and the couple was inseparable until Dick’s death in 1997. Dorothy is survived by her brothers John and Chris Morrison, her sister Charmalee Patterson, daughter Joyce Meece, son and daughter-in-law Kent and Marleigh Mathiot, and grandchildren Elizabeth and Peter Mathiot. She has gone home to the Lord, but will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Blanchet House of Hospitality.
