Dorothy Evelyn Reynolds June 7, 1924 March 1, 2016 Resident of Walnut Creek, Mountain Ranch and Benicia Dorothy passed peacefully from this life surrounded by her family at the age of 91. She had suffered a series of health declines in recent months including dementia. She is preceded in death by her husband Burkley. Dorothy was a retired school bus driver for the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, and drove for many of the Pleasant Hill High School sports teams. She adored driving on field trips especially into San Francisco, her beloved hometown. An avid 49er and Giants fan too! She was born and raised in the Sunset district, to British parents. Her parents migrated here from England via Canada in search of a better life in America in 1918. Dorothy graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1942. She is survived by her six children: Carol (Ken) Huddleston of Big Spring, TX, Dawn Miller of Vallejo, CA, Jan (Jerry) Cooper of Valley Spring, CA, Jeff (Jeanette) Reynolds of Concord, CA, Gary (Sally) Reynolds of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Wendy Reynolds of Benicia, CA. Also surviving is her brother Frank Small of Wildomar, CA. She was most proud of her 17 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. Dorothy resided and raised her family in Walnut Creek for 22 years where they were active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Larkey Swim Club. She and Burkley retired to Calaveras County in the beautiful town of Mountain Ranch, CA. She filled her retirement years with community club activities, tennis, and as a hospital "Pink Lady" volunteer. Many callings in her Mormon faith kept her active as well. Much thanks to the wonderful ladies Hiromi and Shay at Kindred Hospice for their loving care.
