Dorothy Mae (Smith) Rollins, age 86, of Cambridge, Wisconsin passed away at her home on Saturday, October 6, 2018. Dorothy was born in Auburn, Kentucky on June 19, 1932, the daughter of John Henry and Minerva Daisy (Davenport) Smith. She spent her early life in Auburn and Bowling Green KY. Dorothy left school at 15 to care for her younger siblings so her mother and father could work. Dorothy married Clyde Allen Rollins. Clyde preceded her in death on December 23, 1983. Dorothy and Clyde moved to Chicago Illinois shortly after her first son was born and resided in Chicago for approximately 65 years. During that time, Dorothy worked for Stewart Warner Corporation both in the factory and then later in their corporate office. Dorothy then retired and moved to Hanover Park IL where she worked part time at Wal-Mart as a cashier and in the craft department. Dorothy then moved in with her son, Edward in Hoffman Estates for several years. As Dorothy’s health declined, she moved to Cambridge WI to live with her daughter who was her caretaker until her death. Dorothy loved her crafts and woodworking which included knitting, crocheting, sewing clothes for herself and family and various other arts & crafts. She loved to work with wood and created many yard decorations over the years. She also loved to play games, cards and most importantly spend time with her beloved family. Dorothy loved spending time with her pets, Toto (deceased) and Snowball. Another big pleasure was scouting out garage sales and visiting thrift shops for that perfect something she absolutely needed. She also loved her time “up north” with her family in both Humbird and Rhinelander Wisconsin. Dorothy had a reputation for winning prizes at the WWF annual banquet and enjoyed working the banquet each year with her family.
