Dorothy Louise Seymour

D. Louise (Appleby) Seymour, a long-time resident of Otisco, NY, died at home, February 26, 2021 at the age of 90. Born April 30, 1930, in Syracuse, NY, she lived her early life in Prescott, Canada on a farm with her grandparents. At the age of 14 she moved with her father to Syracuse. Louise married Robert Seymour in 1952 and she enjoyed her life long career of stay at home mom as they moved from Philadelphia, to the Valley of Syracuse and to Otisco. She was an original member of the LaFayette Quilting group that produced hand sewn quilts for over 40 years. She was an avid herb, vegetable and flower gardener; and her porch was a favorite place for hummingbirds in the summer and a variety of wild birds in winter. She enjoyed colonial history, family history and the many family dogs and cats. Louise was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2010, but continued to live a highly independent life in the house they built together over 50 years ago. She is survived by three daughters, Claire (Paul) Rouse of Otisco, Kim (Tim) Russell of Otisco, Tracy (Jay) Fenner of West Monroe. Louise has seven grandchildren, Christine, Stephanie, Jessica, Crystal, Danielle, Joshua, Melissa; and eight, almost nine, great-grandchildren: Grace, Madison, Johnny, Keagan, Nolan, Amiyah, Joshua Jr., Xander, and baby overdue.
