Dorothy M. Straub

Dorothy M. Straub, a resident of Woodbury, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019. She was 83. Legacy Dorothy was an avid reader, loyal Red Hats Society member, devoted congregant and a superb cook, famous for her potato salad. Dorothy had a love for the finer things in life such as traveling and her flamboyant jewelry she donned with every outfit when she stepped out of the house. Most of all, Dorothy adored her time spent with family. She could be seen sitting at the head of the dinner table with a spread of her amazing cooking before her. She taught her children and grandchildren the art of life with her hard work ethic and laid back sense of humor that could bring anyone to tears with laughter. Dorothy was unashamed of who she was. She was a hard-loving, selfless woman who didn’t ask for much but only to be surrounded by the ones she loved. She was a true inspiration with a light that shone brighter than the sun. Family She is the beloved Wife of James J. Straub for 62 years. Devoted mother to Kathleen Straub-Ramso (Eric), James L. Straub (Helen) and Timothy Straub (Eileen); Loving grandmother to Kevin Ramso, Shannon Ramso, Jessica Straub and Christina Straub. She is also survived by many other cherished family members and friends, and her 4-legged grand-animals, Percy and Gemma. Dorothy is predeceased by her parents Lester and Ethel McGowan and her sister Virginia Emmerich. Farewell Tribute Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation at 9:00AM until 11:00AM on Saturday, August 24, 2019 in the McGuinness Funeral Home - Woodbury, 34 Hunter Street. Funeral Mass will be held at Christ Episcopal Church - 62 Delaware St. in Woodbury at 11:45AM with interment to follow at Woodbury Memorial Park.
