Dorothy Saxon Zielinski
January 1st, 1921 - December 4th, 2016
Saxon Zielinski, 95 of Greeley, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at TRU Hospice Inpatient Unit. She was born January 1, 1921 in Los Angeles, CA to William and Christine (Wood) Greene and grew up in California and Oregon. She graduated from high school and married Kermit Hanson in May 1944, later divorcing. She married Frank Zielinski in May 1970. Saxon worked as a nurse and began her career in 1965 at the Navy Hospital in San Diego. She later worked as a Med Nurse in nursing homes in California and Florida. She loved her job taking care of people, working into her 70’s. She loved the Lord and read her Bible every day. She enjoyed Bible study and visiting with her friends from church. She also loved traveling to visit her family, bowling, and playing pool. Survivors include her sons Wayne and Dale (Caroline) Hanson and daughter Christy (Mike) Kerr, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, son Bruce Hanson, grandson Joey Kerr, brothers William and Robert Greene, and daughter-in-law Jeannie Hanson as well as two special dogs. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to the "Weld County Humane Society” in care of Adamson Cares, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
