Memorial

Dorothea †œDottie† Linder was taken into God†™s embrace on the morning of April 4th, 2012. She passed peacefully and has gone to join the love of her life, her husband Leonard. She was born on September 29th, 1930 in Marburg, Germany. She grew up as a tomboy and loved athletics of all kinds, especially swimming. Her formative years were spent in and out of air-raid shelters, and combing through the rubble of World War II. She came to the U.S. as a war bride, but that marriage did not work out. She met Leonard Linder and found true happiness. They were married in late November of 1958. A child of privation, she was an incredibly creative woman, sewing, knitting, crocheting, all the while tending to the traditional roles in the household. She was always a very strong woman, who remained faithful to her ideals through thick and thin. During her final years, she became a caregiver to Leonard, who passed of congestive heart failure in June of 2010. Her own health was always secondary to her duties to the family. She had Lupus in her lungs and had been diagnosed with cancer early in 2012. Smoke from the Lower North Fork Fire affected her lungs very seriously, and she entered Collier Hospice late on Friday, March 30th. She was a member of Friendship Chapter #137 of the Order of Eastern Star, and was a Past-President of the Arvada DeMolay Mother†™s Club. She is survived by her sister Erika Sutton of Omaha Nebraska, her step-daughter Joyce Simpleman of Loma Colorado, her son Leland Linder of Arvada Colorado, and five grandchildren and one great grandchild distributed throughout the country. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Dottie†™s name to the Lupus Foundation of America (www.lupus.org). Birth: Sep 29, 1930, Marburg, , Germany Death: Apr 4, 2012, Wheat Ridge, Colorado
