Douglas "Doug" Neal Baird
December 15th, 1954 - July 1st, 2020
On July 1, 2020, Douglas "Doug” N. Baird, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away. Doug was born December 15, 1954 in Bloomington, IL to his mother Betty Baird and his father George Baird. He became certified in multiple mechanical trades and went on to work as a maintenance specialist for over 40+ years. He married Patricia (Patty) Hofreiter on January 13, 1979. They have two children Micah Baird and Angie Keefer and three grandchildren Aiya Baird and Bernadette & Llewyn Keefer. They resided in Bloomington for 36 years, then moved to Colorado to be with their children and grandchildren. Doug is survived by his parents; wife; children; and grandchildren; as well as two sisters Georgia Boyer (Mark) and Marci Andrews (Eric); brother Mike Baird (Michele); and two nieces and three nephews. Doug was strong and solid in his faith, a hard worker, steadfast in his love, and a giver of his time & talents to help others. He was a true ‘jack of all trades’ that offered his services freely and generously to those who needed it. He loved plunking his guitar, fishing, camping, and using his artistic abilities to create and design many things. He will be remembered for his desire to know and correctly understand the Word of God, all with the goal of leaving a legacy of honoring God. Doug was loved dearly by his family and those close to him. He will be missed and remembered always. Memorials may be given to Impact Colorado Campus Ministry at 1501 S. Whitcomb, Ft. Collins, CO 80521. Services will be held at College Park Christian Church in Illinois on July 18, 2020.
