Letting Go You are not the first to die Someone has gone before Who paid the price he had to pay To open heaven's door Though you've slipped beyond my grasp Your suffering is done And I am comforted in knowing You are with God and God's son The emptiness I feel right now Though difficult to stand Is bearable because I know You are in God's loving hands Your life would be so difficult If you were here with me I understand how God was merciful To set your spirit free From the body you were born with And the life that you would know So God chose that you should be there God knew it long ago Farewell, my tender one For now our time is through I'll hold you in my heart until I come to be with you.
