After he left Monfort, he worked for Coleman Natural Beef in Golden, CO and was still employed part time at Colorado Premium Foods. Doug enjoyed fishing, golf, and car shows, particularly corvettes. He loved his Corvette and spent hours shining it up! Doug also loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a very caring man and will be missed by so many. Doug is survived by his wife Linda of Windsor; sons, Brett (Rhani Resuello) Carey of Marysville, KS, and Mathew (Kim) Carey of Eaton; grandchildren, Jerrod (Kylie) Carey, Makaila Carey, Kaitlin Carey, and Rhett Carey; sister, Darlene Maag; brothers, Bud (Fern) Carey, and Ben Carey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
