Douglas Kenney

KENNEY, Douglas Edward, 51, of Land O’Lakes, Florida passed away January 5, 2019. He was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania where he graduated from Westmont Hilltop High School. Doug attended Juniata College in Pennsylvania where he met Heather; he graduated with a BS in Political Science. Heather and Doug were married in 1991 and moved to Maryland where Kyle and Clay were born. In 2012, they moved to Florida. He was Christian in faith; he was a Deacon in Maryland at The Church at Riverside and he assisted with the Bread Ministry at Myrtle Lake Baptist Church in Florida. Doug was a board member of the Wilderness Lake Home Owners Association, an avid golfer, loved coffee, enjoyed nature hikes and had a witty sense of humor. His other favorite activities included working on cars, attending car shows, and playing guitar. Douglas was also a DJ for the WJHT radio station in Johnstown, Pennsylvania back when it was referred to as “Glu-92” and for the college radio station “Power 92” at Juniata. Doug was an adjuster for various insurance companies throughout his career. Doug was much loved and respected. He is preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Lois Kenney; and his brother, Walter Kenney. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Heather Kenney; and his sons, Kyle and Clay. The family will receive visitors at 9:30 am prior to the funeral service, which will take place at 10:30 am on Saturday January 12, 2019 at Myrtle Lake Baptist Church.
