DOUGLAS ADAM VOELKER (14 September 1955 1 April 2014) Douglas Doug Adam Voelker,58, of Puyallup, WA entered into eternal life on 1 April 2014. Born in Tacoma, WA, Dougs journeys took him to England, Turkey, Hawaii, Florida and The Middle East, to name a few places, as a member of the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service as a Master Sergeant. Doug is preceded in passing by his mother, Virginia Voelker (Hultman), and brother, Bruce Voelker. He is survived by his father, Howard Voelker of Puyallup, WA; brothers, David Voelker of Orting, WA and Martin Voelker of North Plains, OR; one sister, Brenda Boose (Voelker) of Centreville, VA and his only son Christopher Voelker of Spanaway, WA; as well as many additional family members, adopted children and close friends. Doug was a dedicated, cultured and loving man. He especially enjoyed golf, cooking, food and spending time with friends and family. He was proud of his military service to his country and upon retiring was honored, as a civilian government contractor, as the 3rd place winner of the 2003 Department of Defense CIO award. A graveside military funeral service will be held on Saturday, the 19th of April 2014 at 1:00pm at the Fir Lane Memorial Park and Funeral Home, located at 924 East 176th St. Spanaway, WA 98387.
