Douglas Edward Yetter

Obituary Douglas Edward Yetter, 65, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at his home in Colorado Springs, CO. He lived life on his own terms and passed on his own terms. Doug was born on August 26, 1955 to George and Carmen M. (Guentzel) Yetter in Mankato Minnesota. Doug attended Mankato Public Schools because he had to and was anything but passionate about it - he was more of a mover and a shaker always looking for the next big adventure which led him to leave school and enlist in the United States Marine Corps. He eventually set up permanent residence in Colorado, which hes called home for over 40 years. Over the years Doug wore many different hats. Hes been many things to many people and was stubborn to the core. He has been loved, hated, praised and cursed by both relatives and friends but at the end of the day, one thing everyone could agree on is that Doug was a good friend and a friend to everyone. Possibly the best friend one could ever ask for. You may remember him sowing wild oats and driving his mother, Carmen, crazy, days of working construction with him at R.E. Monks, having a Strohs Light or Coors Light with him at the Alumni or another one of the many small neighborhood bars he frequented. Then there was his trucking company, Yetter Trucking, many years of partying at Sturgis atop his Harley, 4-wheeling, boat outings, fishing, and more Vegas trips than anyone could ever keep track of. Doug has been raising hell for a little over 6 decades and there will certainly be no shortage of memories in his passing. Doug is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brandy and Ben Schlader, of Colorado Springs, CO; his sister, Deb (Lee) Erickson of Lakeville, MN; 4 grandchildren, 2 nephews, 1 niece and his best friends Terry "Crash" Paris and Garry Myers. Doug was preceded in death by his father, George Yetter in 1960; mother, Carmen Farr in 2006; sister, Lois Dauffenbach in 1986; brother, Denny Yetter in 2014; grandnephew, John in 2013 and nephew, Patrick Dauffenbach in 2018. In lieu of flowers, and in true Doug fashion, make a sizable purchase at your favorite local watering hole, get cork high and bottle deep and tell the stories he no longer can.
