Carol Stenroos passed away on March 11, 2010 in Monroe, WA; she was born on April 15, 1937 in Duluth, MN. She earned her Masters degree and Ph.D. with honors from Wayne State University in Detroit. Carol received the Sister Alice Lamb Award in 1994 for being a distinguished alumnus for outstanding service to her profession at her undergraduate alma mater, the College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth.Carol was a passionate learner. She loved to read, travel and follow the arts. In addition to being an avid art collector, she had a great affection for animals. Carol was always the consummate teacher to those around her. Carol was a loving mother and is survived by her children; Mary Stenroos and her partner Penny Smith of Monroe, WA; Ruth Hurt (Scott) of Holland, MI and John (Claire) Stenroos of Medina, MN; and her four grandchildren David, Christopher, and Alexander Hurt and Jacqueline Stenroos.Services will be held at a later date in Detroit, MI.Please share memories with her family at href=http://www.becksfuneralhome.com www.becksfuneralhome.com .
