Dr. Ernest Theophilus Bajpai, MD, FACP

Dr. Ernest Theophilus Bajpai, age 94 years, of Wenonah passed away on Friday July 12, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Ranchi, India October 4, 1929. He came to the United States in 1968 during the Vietnam conflict. He graduated with high honors from St Xavier's University and subsequently from Prince of Wales Medical College in Patna, India in1955. He completed his residency in the USA in Misericordia Hospital in Philadelphia PA in 1970. He joined Wenonah Medical Associates in 1975 and practiced for decades until he retired at age 81. He practiced as an Internist and was the first cardiologist at Underwood Memorial Hospital He was a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He was the medical director of Greenbriar Nursing Home for several years.
Throughout his school years he always ranked at the top of his class. He had a deep dedication to the field of medicine and continued education. In addition to being a distinguished scholar, he had a very kind and humble demeanor. His gentle voice and radiant sweet smile would brighten up anyone's day. His wisdom and clinical skills were beyond compare.
He was greatly respected and admired by his colleagues in the medical community. He was adored by his patients. He saved many lives and helped several patients during their times of sickness and adversity. He was beloved by his patients whom he would often share his stories about his travels around the world. His legacy continues to live on. He was truly a gift and a blessing to the medical community and his family.
Dr. Bajpai had a great love for Indian classical music, poetry, hymns, and traveling around the world. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his loving family. He was a Christian man of devout faith. He was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Wenonah, NJ.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Nomita Bajpai (nee Biswas) , his daughters Minakshi Haines of Maryland (Paul) and cardiologist Dr Enakshi Bajpai of Mullica Hill NJ and grandsons Charles Michael Haines and Driss Ernest Dahjaoui. Dr. Bajpai will be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, and friends who cherished him. He is predeceased by his parents Charles Theophilus and Angelina (nee Brown) Bajpai.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Wenonah NJ or to St Paul's Cathedral in Ranchi India.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dr. Bajpai's viewing on Friday, July 19th, 2024, from 5-7pm at McGuinness Funeral Home located at 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096. On Saturday, July 20th, 2024, close relatives and friends are invited to Holy Trinity Episocpal Church located at 11 North Monroe Ave, Wenonah, NJ 08090, for a viewing from 10-11am, followed by a Christian Mass celebrated in Dr. Bajpai's name at 11am.
Private interment at Wenonah Cemetery for family will take place subsequently.
