Dr. Harry Eugene Kreutziger

Obituary for Dr. Harry Eugene Kreutziger Dr. Harry Eugene Kreutziger was welcomed into the arms of his Savior, on January 15, 2020, after a long illness. He leaves behind to mourn his loss, his loving wife of 26 years, Patricia “Trisha” Baugus Kreutziger; his children, Jason Todd Kreutziger (Ann), Shannon David Hawkins (Tina), Jennifer Kimberly Springer (Chad); his six grandchildren, Lauren, Leah, Sarah Huffman (Travis), Amber Moore (Harold), Colby Springer, Payton Springer; and his three great-grandchildren, Parker McCarthy, Keegan Moore and Emma Kreutziger. Dr. Kreutziger was born March 8, 1945, in Wichita, Kansas to the late Gulven Monroe and Bertha Dvoracek Kreutziger. Other survivors include his brothers Kenneth Kreutziger (Cindy) of Boston, MA; Karl Kreutziger (Betty Anne) of Oceanside, CA; Dr. Keith Kreutziger (Dr. Sarah) of New Orleans, LA; and Paul Kreutziger (Kathy) of Wyoming, MI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dr. Kreutziger graduated from Southeast High School (Wichita), the University of Kansas, and the University of Houston College of Optometry. He was ordained a Baptist Minister in 1994 after finishing his Doctorate of Divinity degree at Wake Forest Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Kreutziger practiced Optometry for many years in Rock Hill, Columbia and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He served in the US Army from 1971 through 1977. After his retirement from his optometry practice, he worked as an associate pastor at Myrtle Beach Thee Baptist Worship Center. He enjoyed teaching Bible study classes, home Bible study, and officiating at worship services. Easter was his favorite time. Dr. Kreutziger belonged to the Rotary Club and was an avid tennis player and proficient golfer. He won many awards and state championships in tennis singles and doubles. Although he was competitive, he stressed sportsmanship in all of his tennis tutorials. He loved other sports and rooted enthusiastically for the University of Kansas “Jayhawks!” A treasured Jayhawk watch, given to him by his daughter Jennifer, was so beloved that he refused to take it off. He and Trisha travelled all over America and other parts of the world. Europe, the Pacific Islands, and the Holy Land were his favorite destinations. He made a point of studying the history of each country and enjoyed being with its people and learning their customs and traditions. In all endeavors, Dr. Kreutziger was unfailingly curious and thoughtful. He will be fondly remembered for his faithful service to his Lord. Services will be held at 12:00 PM, on Tuesday, January 21st, 2020 at the Mausoleum Chapel of Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072. The family will greet friends at Woodridge Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, prior to the service. Entombment in the Woodridge Memorial Park Mausoleum will follow the service.
