Duane Corbett Judy
April 25th, 1958 - November 23rd, 2020
Duane C. Judy, 62, of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully in his sleep, after a long illness, on Monday, November 23, 2020 in his home in Colorado Springs. Duane was born in New Castle, Delaware to John and (late) Jean (Chambers) Judy. He graduated from William Penn High School in New Castle, Delaware. He obtained a BA in Criminal Justice from Phoenix University and recently obtained a MS in Criminal Justice with an emphasis on Homeland Security from Colorado Technical University graduating with a 4.0 average. He was married on December 28, 1995 to Linda Lutz in Shalimar, Florida. They recently retired to Colorado Springs. Duane is survived by his wife and their dogs Smith and Wesson, his father John Judy and step-mother Josephine Judy, an aunt, uncle, a cousin and many brother-in-law’s and sister-in-law’s, nieces and nephews around the country who loved him tremendously and will miss him dearly. Duane served in the United States Air Force for 20 years working in Security Forces, Investigations and Anti-terrorism. He retired from the Air Force in 2006 as a Master Sergeant. He continued his dedication to security and began his 12 year civil service career at Buckley AFB as the Installation Anti-terrorism Officer. Duane received numerous awards for his exceptional Anti-terrorism programs as well as multiple awards for Civilian of the Year. Duane loved traveling, hiking, skiing, fishing, photography, cooking and anything to do with flying. He joined the Civil Air Patrol when he was 13 years old and worked at New Castle Airport until he joined the military. He won several amateur awards for photography and was well known for winning chili cook-offs and making rum cakes every Christmas for his family, friends and co-workers. He had a great sense of humor, was very friendly to everyone he met, always willing to lend a hand and was loved by all who knew him. The world will not be the same without him. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations in Duane’s honor may be made to Angel Flight West at https://www.angelflightwest.org/give/. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a future time. Arrangements are by All Veterans Funeral and Cremation.
