Earl D. Clark
April 17th, 1925 - February 13th, 2014
April 17, 1925- February 13, 2014 He was adored by his family and friends for his honesty, wit, and ever present humor. Earl’s death is regarded as a blessing as it released him from a struggle in which we could not help: Alzheimer’s disease. He was born in Monticello, Maine but moved early on to Washington State. He went to high school in Wapato, WA before entering the Navy where he served as a cook during WWII. Once he returned from the service, he moved to Auburn, WA where he worked as a volunteer firefighter. While at the Fireman’s ball he met his bride to be, Yolanda Scarpelli. They married in 1948. He then moved into the insurance industry and opened his award winning agency which he ran for more than 40 years. He appreciated the outdoors: spending much of his time fishing, hunting, golfing, and traveling. Earl and Yolanda traveled worldwide as well as local camping and on the open road with their motor home. They started regularly going to Arizona, and became “snowbirds”, long before officially retiring. He loved being surrounded by his family and friends, from playing weekly pinnacle with his dear friends George and Bea, to playing cribbage every night with his nephew, Dan. He will be missed by his loving wife of 66 years, Yolanda, two children, son Dennis (Patty) and daughter Dianne (Larry), three granddaughters, Emily (Brett), Brianna (Sam), and Christina, and three great grandchildren, Collin, Kailey, and Victoria. The family would like to send warm thanks to Katrina, Betty, Fred, Annette, and everyone at Providence Hospice Care. Also huge thanks to Ken, Simon, Keith, and Fredrick for all of their great care and support for Earl. On Wednesday February 19th a viewing will be held at Klontz Funeral Home 5:30-7:30 pm. A mass will be held at 11 am Thursday February 20th at Holy Family Parish in Auburn.
