Earl Charles Craft
March 25th, 1942 - August 15th, 2016
Earl Charles Craft Chuck was born in Seattle Washington on March 25, 1942 and passed away on August 15, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. He fought a courageous fight with cancer for 12 years. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington in 1960, joined the Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. He worked at Ohio-Ferrell Co until deciding to become an electrician. He attended Bates Vocational Technical School and completed his apprenticeship in 1971 and was a member of the IBEW Electrical Workers Local # 76 for 49 years. He loved his work as a Journeyman Construction Electrician and the Union Brotherhood. One of the first buildings he worked on was KeyBankat 112th and Pacific and one of the last was an addition at Good Samartain Hospital in Puyallup. Many years of his career were spent as a Team Leader in the Maintenance department at the Tacoma School District. He served on the Executive Board for Local 76 and was a former delegate to the Pierce County Central Labor Council for his union. He retired in 2004 after being diagnosed with cancer. In 2009 he and his wife traveled to Apache Junction, Arizona each winter. They roamed the desert in 4 wheelers exploring the landscape. Chuck is survived by his wife Margaret, children Charles (Carol), daughter Shereen (Ken) Klinger, stepchildren Joann (Bob) Richardson, Douglas Blair and Angela (Robert) Barnes. His six grandchildren were to loves of his life, Kelsey Craft, Courtney Craft, Steven Henderson, Cole Barnes, Keaton Craft and Carter Barnes. His is also survived by his brother Joseph (Deborah) Craft and a very special Aunt Elaine (Dellie) Newton. He is predeceased by his parents Joe and Val Craft and former wife Jo Ann Vig. Memorial services will be held at Celebration Lutheran Church, 2500 Shaw Rd, Puyallup, Wa on Saturday September 24th at 11:00 AM. In Lieu of flowers please consider sending a donation in the name of Earl Craft to Celebration Lutheran Church, Multicare Hospice of Pierce County or a charity of your choice.
