Earl Lawrence Marsh, 86 of North Port, FL formerly of Greene, NY died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 surrounded by family and friends at Complex Care Hospital at Ridgelake in Sarasota, FL. He was born on June 24, 1930 in Binghamton, NY. Earl served as a Specialist Third Class (SP3) in the US Army. After his service to his country, he returned to work on his father's dairy farm in Smithville Flats before moving to Greene, NY where he worked at the Credit Union for the Raymond Corp. Earl relocated to Florida where he worked for the Barnett Bank. Upon his retirement he began a new career as a Healthcare companion/aide working with in-home clients as well as providing facility-based care. Survivors include his brother Howard Marsh, Sr; sister in laws: Doris (Smith) Marsh and Joyce (Marsh) Whittaker, his daughter: Clarice Casico (Peter) Amato, nephews: David (Terry) Marsh, Rick (Beth) Marsh, Charles (Terry) Marsh, Scott (Roxanne) Marsh, Wayne (Kathleen) Marsh and Robert (Ellen) Marsh; nieces: Mary Katherine Marsh (Bill) Bushey, Patricia Marsh (Peter) DiStefano, Susan Marsh (Jerry) Korosec, Nanette Marsh (Mike) Eddy and Gayle Marsh (David) Rice; two grandchildren and many great nephews and nieces. He leaves behind his devoted friends: Bill Arnold, Mary Riley, Gerry Moran, John Sullivan, Ruby and Rodney Disbennett. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Helen (Whitney) Marsh; stepmother: Katherine (Franklin) Marsh; two brothers: Charles E. and David Marsh; sister in laws: Marion (Berish) Marsh, Julie (Page) Marsh and Dorothy (Shipman) Marsh; nephews: Charles E. Marsh, Jr; Howard (Howie) Marsh, Jr and Bradley Marsh; niece: Bonnie Mae Marsh and his dear companion of 28 years: Michael J. Cascio. A Graveside Service will be held at the Sarasota National VA Cemetery by Monsignor Jerry Kobbeman at a later date. In Memorium donations are welcome to the Suncoast Humane Society 6781 San Casa Dr. Englewood, FL 34224 (to honor Earl's love for his beloved dogs: Heather and Chelsea) or to: North Port Meals on Wheels 4285 Wesley Lane North Port, FL 34287.
