Earnest "Ted" Theodore Cammer

Ernest “Ted” Theodore Cammer, Jr, 79 of Charleston, SC entered into eternal rest to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 15, 2022.  Born on November 6, 1943 in Charleston, SC, Ted was the only child of Francis Louise King Cammer and Ernest Theodore Cammer, Sr.   Ted had a successful career for nearly 30 years in the airline and travel industry before joining the Charleston County Auditor’s office where he retired in 2012. Ted was a devoted husband, dedicated father and loyal friend who served his community and the Lord.  He performed countless hours as a volunteer and served on executive committees for the Hanahan High School Athletic Boosters and later with the Hanahan High School Band Boosters. During his life, he served as a member and committee volunteer at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Charleston and Messiah Lutheran Church in Hanahan. Ted is preceded in death by both his father and mother as well as his son, Timothy Mark “Timmy" Cammer.  He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Sue Anna Tylee Nielsen; his three sons; Ernest Theodore “Trey” Cammer, III (Renee), Todd Eric Cammer (Linda), Thomas Tylee (Tommy) Cammer (Elizabeth); seven grandchildren: Siobhan Fioramonti (Joseph), Jordan Cammer (Bethany), Michael Mickalis, Masen Mickalis (Haley), Mikayla Joyner, Dylan Cammer and Caitlyn Cammer; and seven great-grandchildren: Elise Fioramonti, Olivia Cammer, Asher Joyner, Kaylei Mickalis, Lany Mickalis, Sawyer Mickalis, and Adeline Mickalis.  Ted’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr Brzezinski and the dedicated staff of MUSC for their outstanding care and genuine concern for Ted. The family will receive friends at Highland Park Baptist Church located at 6211 Murray Drive Hanahan, SC on January 7, 2023.  Family visitation will be held from 1pm-2:30pm with visitors invited to use the church office entrance. Celebration of Life Service will be held from 3-4pm in the Church Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Ted’s name to the charity of your choice.
