Ed Burgess
December 20th, 1937 - April 19th, 2022
Ed Burgess, 84, of Lexington, KY passed away on April 19, 2022 after giving it his best shot against lung cancer and dementia. He left this world peacefully surrounded by the two most important people in his life, his loving wife Julie of 55 years and his daughter Christy. Ed was an engineering graduate of the University of Iowa and retired from Link Belt (which is the company that took him from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Bowling Green, Kentucky, to Lexington). He is survived by his wife Julie, daughter Christy Dalton (Eddie), grandson Tyler Dalton, brother in law, niece, and nephews. Everyone who knew Ed, knew that he was a laid back simple man with a love of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, golf, wood working, the Green Bay Packers, Iowa / Nebraska football, good jokes (well maybe they weren't always good), and his family. Ed would not want us to be sad that he is no longer with us, but would want us to grab a PBR and drink it in his honor. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with of course PBR and lots of stories about how Ed left his mark on this world. A celebration of life will be held on May 19th at The Cellar on Landsdowne Dr from 5 pm - 7pm, with of course PBR and lots of stories about how Ed left his mark on this world.
