Eddy Daniel Vasquez

Eddy Daniel Vasquez, 27, Gainesville resident Eddy Vasquez, 27, passed away on November 9, 2013 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Eddy was born on October 12, 1986 in Chicago and grew up in Cuenca, Ecuador. He returned to the United States with his family to begin high school at the Center for Advanced Technologies. He quickly excelled in sports, particularly wrestling and soccer, education, and in building friendships. He earned the Florida Bright Futures scholarship and completed his bachelor's degree in finance at the University of South Florida at the St. Petersburg campus. Eddy Vasquez was the oldest of three brothers. He was a leader in every facet of his life. He has been an inspiration to his younger brothers, his family, and his many friends. At Grooveshark, Eddy was the VP of International Business, where he confidently took the business into new, unexplored territory. He always worked as hard as possible, focusing his efforts into causes that inspired him. Eddy made success look easy. Before leaving this world, Eddy impacted hundreds of lives. He is survived by his mother and father, Silvia and Eddy Sr.; younger brothers, Mateo and David; grandparents Jaime Vasquez and Violeta Larriva of Cuenca, Ecuador; aunts and uncles Carmita Vasquez and Pablo Rios, Marco Encalada and Dunia Abad, Fernando Encalada and Germania Vinueza, Esteban Encalada and Karina Polo; cousins, great uncles and great aunts, and the rest of the family.
