June 7th, 1931 - May 16th, 2024
Edgar Louis Freeman, 92, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully Thursday, May 16, 2024. A native of Surry County, NC, Edgar was the husband of the late Valerie Mayes Freeman and the son of Charlie Freeman and Stella Creed Freeman, both deceased. Edgar was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his daughter, Linda Pettit and husband, Jeff; sons, Randy Freeman and wife, Delana, and Ray Freeman; grandchildren, James Grimes, Anne Grimes, Travis Freeman, Casey Dyles, Ricky Pettit, Zachery Pettit, Stephanie Blanton, Ray Lee Freeman, Nikki Hunt, Heather Freeman, and Brittany Freeman; and sister, Mary Lou Freeman. In addition to his wife and parents, Edgar was preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy Lee Leflett and Judy Kaye Freeman; and three brothers, Charlie Freeman, Leroy Freeman, and Jessie Freeman. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory, Kernersville, NC. The family will greet friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
