Edgar Vega-Castillo

August 16th, 1958 - March 23rd, 2024

Edgar Vega-Castillo, 65 (Aug 16, 1958) died in his home on March 23, 2024, surrounded by the love and support of his wife, children, and daughter in law.

Born in Brooklyn New York, Edgar is survived by Zarifeth Vega (wife), Edgar Vega Jr (son), Iliana Vega-Imperi (daughter), Amalia Imperi (granddaughter), and Natalia Imperi (granddaughter).

Per his wishes his ashes will be scattered in Puerto Rico at a later date and so, there will be no services.

Edgar was able to fulfill his dream by retiring as a Sergeant First Class after 22 years of service in the US Army. He traveled the world during his career, raising his family, and fulfilling his other dreams. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and adoring grandfather. Family was the most important thing to Edgar, he cherished his sisters, nieces, and nephews. He was a good friend to many, an avid Mets, Jets, and Nets fan, and had a love for old comics and even older movies.

He will be greatly missed by all of us.

Rest in peace my beloved dear cousin. Our child hood together in Brooklyn gave us a bond. Our families would constantly visit each other. We went to the same school ( St Peter and Paul), played in the same school yard , explored the same streets and on every opportunity played handball. I will always cherish the memories. You will be deeply missed, but your memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Brother Erik

To the friends and family of Edgar, We are truly sad for your loss. Our prayers and thoughts are frequent for those who suffer due to the anguish of losing a loved one. We all experience this loss but the Bible teaches that God shares your loss and your pain at Psalm 116:15. The scriptures brought us comfort when we've lost loved ones and I hope it helps at this most difficult time. Because those who pass on are precious in Gods eyes, He's provided the scriptures to give comfort but also show us his purpose for those who have entered rest.
