Edith Heberly

Edith Heberly of Henderson, CO passed away on 3/5/2010, after her yearlong battle with Lung Cancer. Edith was born in West Virginia on November 7, 1953 and was 56 years old. Her loving husband David survives her. She is also survived by a brother, Homer Triplett, Jr. (wife Julia) of Florence, MO, and sisters Florence Clark (husband Roger) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Linda Hughes (husband Raymond) of Jacksonville, FL, Imogene Roach (husband Bobby) of Fairmount, WVA, Janet Triplett of Baring, Wash., and a sister by love, Joanna Dyson (husband Tony) of Thornton, CO, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and in-laws that make up a wonderful extended family. She was preceded in death by her sister Betty Jane Triplett, and both parents, Homer and Margaret Triplett. Edith moved to Colorado in 1976 where she met her husband, Dave. They were married in 1981. She started working for the US Postal Service in 1985 and has made many friends during her 25 years with the Postal Service. Her last years were spent at the Northglenn Station, where her coworkers and customers say they will miss her laugh and her positive attitude towards life. One of Edith and Dave’s most prized and joyous accomplishments was learning to drag race. They attended Drag Racing School in North Carolina. They had their Dragster “Rat Race” built by Jerry Fritz in 1996. Edith’s best time was 8.08 seconds at 168mph at Bandimere Speedway in 1996. This was a love they shared together for several years. Edith and Dave also shared a love of gardening and for the recentaddition to their family of Baby, their Chihuahua, who faithfully protected both Edith and Dave.
