Edith B. “Edie” McClelland, 90, widow of William Thomas (Tom) McClelland, Lexington, formerly of Somerset, died March 30, 2020. She was born in Lewisburg, TN to the late Harold and Emilene Warwick Bills. Mrs. McClelland was a long standing member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. She is survived by daughters, Cathleen Shai Marshall, Lexington Ky and Marion Colleen McClelland (Randall Slaybaugh), Westerville, OH and her son, Timothy Michael McClelland (Margaret Carpenter) of Lenoir City, TN, and her sister, Annette Lawrie of Lewisburg, TN. Four grandchildren, Wesley Brice Marshall, Lexington, Nicholas Michael (Nicole), Poughkeepsie, NY, William Michael Pitts, Tipp City, OH and Elizabeth Colleen Pitts, Georgetown, KY, several great grandchildren along with a cherished niece and nephews, Melinda (James) Epperson, Slidell, LA and Bill Lawrie and Warwick Lawrie, Nashville, TN. Mrs. McClelland was a retired school teacher at Booker T. Washington Elementary for her entire career of 21 years. Mrs. McClelland was a tireless advocate for her beloved dogs and all animals. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the animal rescue of your choice. A memorial service for Mrs. McClelland will be announced at a later date.
