Editha Casanova Teves, aged 86, died unexpectedly on February 27, 2024, in Boise, Idaho. She was born in Taal, Batangas, Philippines, the youngest daughter of Antonio and Alberta Casanova. She raised a family of her own in Surigao City, Philippines where she pursued her professional journey in the academe at then, San Nicolas College, now St. Paul University Surigao. In April 1986, she moved to the United States of America with her husband, and youngest daughter Jodi. In California she worked for the Orange County Sheriff's Department in the records department. Then in 2000 she retired. Editha and Jose moved to Idaho to join their daughter Jodi. While in Idaho, she was employed by the Idaho State Police, her only employer who acknowledged her PhD in Education from the Philippines. She then retired again after a few years of service. She was an active member of Filipino American Association of Idaho and the Diocese of Holy Apostles Catholic Church. She actively served in the church as a choir member and frequented the Meridian Senior Center to leisurely pass the time and meet some friends, bingo was her favorite hobby. As a retiree she enjoyed travelling to the Philippines to visit her families in Surigao and Batangas. Editha, or fondly called by many, Edith, Detty, Dety and Ditty, will surely be missed for her cheerfulness and high energy. Editha is survived by her loving children: Maureen, Enrico Jose “Ecoy”, Nicanor “Nicky” and Jodith “Jodi” with their respective families of 2 daughters in law; 14 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose; and son, Ricardo Faustino “Dodjie”. “Her memory is my keepsake, with which I’ll never part, God has her in his keeping. I have her in my heart.” – Unknown. The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern, and kindness shown to them during this time of bereavement. May God bless and keep you! Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
