Edna Faye Aylard
November 19th, 1943 - July 31st, 2024
In Loving Memory
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Edna Faye Aylard, 80 years old, from her earthly home into her Heavenly home on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Faye passed away peacefully at her home, with both of her girls beside her, following a short time of being on Hospice. We are so very thankful that God allowed us to be with her as she stepped into His arms. We spent many days over the last weeks watching for a special hummingbird who returns every year to her back porch. It brought her much joy to see him every day. We will continue to remember her each time we encounter a hummingbird, as we hope that you will as well.
She was born in Columbia, SC. She worked in Columbia at a Salon for many years where she made friendships that lasted a lifetime. She was retired from the Presbyterian Home, Columbia, SC as a Cosmetologist.
Faye was extremely talented and could sew, crotchet or craft anything! She loved to create things for others. She crocheted many blankets over the years for so many babies! She would stay up late into the night as a younger woman sewing her girls clothes by hand. She was an amazing cook, and often told us that “she could throw a meal together quickly”. She loved finding a new recipe for a sweet dessert, cakes and cookies.
She was an active member of Hermitage Baptist Church, and truly loved her family at church. She had a huge heart and would have given anyone the shirt off her back if they needed it. She was very proud of her family and loved each of them with her whole heart. Her Great Grandchildren gave her the most joy in her last few years just watching them grow and learn new things. She was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always wanted to share their accomplishments with others.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Reid and her second husband, William Aylard. She was also predeceased by her son, Anthony Quinton Reid and 2 sisters, Narvis Quinton Reid and June Klingemann, along with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Holmes Quinton.
Surviving are her daughters, Wendy Reid Mooneyham and husband Garry of Blythewood, SC and Melissa Reid Warlick and husband Scott of Georgetown, Texas. Her daughter in law, Kim Reid of Elgin, SC, one sister, Rebecca Quinton Waddell of Columbia. Her 6 grandchildren, Lauren Carnes, Greg Mooneyham and wife Taylor, Benjamin Warlick and wife Gaby, Samuel Warlick and wife Hannah, Quinton Reid and Johnny Reid, her 3 great grandchildren, Benjamin, Jr. (BB), Selah Mooneyham and John Ellis Mooneyham.
