Edward Leroy Feris
October 28th, 1933 - January 20th, 2018
Edward “Ed” Feris died peacefully surrounded by family on January 20th 2018 in Enumclaw, Washington. He was 84. Ed was born on October 28, 1933 in Lakeview, Oregon. He graduated in Woodland, Washington in 1951 and married his high school sweetheart Dorothy Lang a year later. Ed is survived by his brother, Allen Feris, three children, Bill Feris, Jeff Feris (wife Suzanne), and Teri Fugate (husband Gregg) and six grandchildren Nick Feris, Matt Fugate, Jamie Beck, Marie Quist, Natalie Hunter, and Carlee Fugate. He served in the Korean War and continued serving his country as an honor guard for the fallen veterans in the community. As a Shriner member and Club President in 1974, he enjoyed raising money for the Shriner’s Hospital in his spare time. He also belonged to the Masonic Lodge, VFW, and Enumclaw Men’s Golf Club. After retiring from F.B.T Logging Company with his brother of 40 years, Ed and Dottie traveled across the country in their motorhome. Eventually they moved to Indio, CA in a golfing community (Shadow Hills Country Club). As an avid golfer, he was proud when he won the club championship in 2009. Fishing, shooting pool, and playing cards with his family were other favorite pastimes. Ed was a man of honor and humor. He was always ready to share a story or tell a joke. He lost the love of his life in 2016 and now is reunited again in eternal love. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at 11:00 am at Evergreen Cemetery in Enumclaw, Washington with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to the Shriner’s Hospital.
