Edward A. Forrest of Hilton Head Island died on September 5, 2018 in Charleston at MUSC following complications in surgery. He was born in Providence, RI on September 12, 1938 to George and Martha Forrest. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Eileen Fitzgerald, his son Mark and daughter Dana Vincent(Alex), his son in law Brian Kelley, his grandchildren Zachary and Logan Vincent, Zachary (Michele), Josh, Christine (Brandon),and Ariel Kelley, his great grandchildren Tristan and Brielle Kelley and his nephews Wayne, Robert, Brian and Billy Forrest of Providence, RI. In addition to his parents Ed was predeceased by his siblings Norma, Jim, Robert and Bill, his children, Torrey Kelley and Todd and his grandson Aaron Kelley. He graduated from La Salle HS and Brown University in Providence, RI. Ed and Eileen lived on Long Island where he was a Stock Broker. Ed was an avid skier. He was a PSIA instructor for disabled skiers. He taught in the Disabled Ski Program at Windham Mountain in the Catskill Mountains. He enjoyed boating on the Great Sacandaga Lake in Northville, NY where he and Eileen had a vacation home. Upon their retirement in 2001 they moved to Windmill Harbour on Hilton Head Island, SC. They immediately fell in love with Hilton Head Island and became involved in community activities. He served on the board of Hilton Head Heroes and Hilton Head Safe Harbour. He was a Red Coat for the Heritage Golf Tournament, he chaired the Player Transportation Committee for Celebrity Golf, he volunteered in many capacities for Concours d’Elegance and the Art Center of Coastal Carolina, he was a past President of the Windmill Harbour POA and was a past Commodore of the South Carolina Yacht Club. Ed and Eileen traveled extensively. They loved cruising and were at home on the high seas. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 20, 2018. Interment will immediately follow the Mass in the Columbarium.
