Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services - Ladson
Edward "Ed" Kent
October 13th, 1950 - August 14th, 2022
Ed passed away on August 14, 2022. He had battled with prostate cancer, bladder cancer, and non-Hodgkins lymphoma. However, ALS (Lou Gerig's disease) was a battle he fought but could not win. He was born October 13, 1950 in Oakland, CA to Harold Kent and Helen Kent. He is survived by his wife, Melody, of nearly 50 yrs. Surviving also are two daughters, Brandi Vance and Lisa Smith. He leaves 5 grandchildren, Alexis( husband David Dinges), Lauryn, Peyton, Kolbee, and Kelsyn, and 2 greatgrandchildren, Kingsley, and Stella. He is survived also by his brother, Rusty Kent, wife Susan and their children. The joy and the pride of Ed's life was his family. He was very proud of each and every one of his children and grandchildren. He never passed up the opportunity to brag about them. Ed enlisted into the US Air Force at the ripe age of 18. He served his first tour of duty in Vietnam the next year. He remained in service to his country for 24 more years. When Ed retired from the USAF he went to work with the Boeing C17 program. Ed was a kind and generous man and never hesitated to help someone in need. Ed loved the Lord and he was very secure in knowing that he would soon be with Jesus. In his final days he found comfort sitting in his recliner with his next to best friend, his dog Lizzy. Services will be Saturday, August 27, 2022 2:00 pm at North Trident Baptist Church, Summerville, SC
